Can I run Snake-Arm Simulator on MAC OS X or Linux?
Snake-Arm Simulator is currently only supported on Windows XP, Vista and 7.
I am trying to install Snake-Arm Simulator but it is asking me to install other applications
Snake-Arm Simulator requires certain software frameworks to be installed to work. These are .Net framework 3.5 SP1, Windows Installer 3.1 and DirectX 9.0c. The installer will try to automatically install these for you.

Snake-Arm Simulator can only be installed in XP through a user account with administrative privileges.

How does Snake mode work?
When in Snake mode the snake-arm robot can be controlled either with the keyboard and mouse or a gamepad (if you have a supported gamepad attached). Driving the robot is controlled either by the keyboard (Up/Down keys) or the left-hand joystick of a supported gamepad. Steering the robot is controlled either by the mouse in the Tip Camera View window or the right-hand joystick of a supported gamepad.
Can I change the speed of the snake-arm robot?
Yes, the speed slider control will affect the speed of the snake-arm robot in either Snake or Cartesian mode. The default speed is 30%.
How do I enable Cartesian mode?
To enable Cartesian mode you need to deploy the snake-arm robot enough so that the button becomes enabled.
How does Cartesian mode work?
When in Cartesian mode, the snake will move in the plane of the tip camera view. By using either the mouse or the right-hand joystick (if you have a supported gamepad attached) you can move the snake-arm robot in Cartesian mode.
What gamepad controllers are currently supported in Snake-Arm Simulator?
Both Thrustmaster and Microsoft gamepads are supported
Can custom model environments be used in Snake-Arm Simulator?
Custom environments can be made by request and used within the Pro version. See the Pro page for more details.
Can I use any other snake-arm robots from the Explorer range or elsewhere?
The full Explorer range of snakes-arms will be available in the Pro version. Custom snake-arms can be made by request. See the Pro page for more details.
Is the snake-arm motion in Snake-Arm Simulator representative of the real world robots?
While all efforts have been made to faithfully simulate the motion of the real snake-arms, there may be slight differences in their motion capabilities.
